The Community
We welcome those who seek the company of others who are living their spirituality by putting it into practice in daily life. We invite those wanting to share a vegetarian, earth-honoring life-style, inspired by the teachings of Master Iachak Alverto Taxo, and the wisdom of the Andean tradition.
We will be gathering and living on land where wise elders have lived in harmony and communion with nature for many years, land where forced labor by the indigenous people was never permitted. We add our own intentions and practices of connection with the land to the special energy that is already there, creating an environment that will nourish us energetically, spiritually and materially.
The community vision includes individual homes and a teaching/gathering lodge. Visitors will be able to share in the experience and wisdom of the Andes, as well as that of other earth-honoring traditions, through workshops and work/study programs. There will also be a healing arts building/spa where natural and energetic therapies will be available, drawing on both Andean and other traditions.
The community will include both full-time and part-time residents and accommodations for visitors, including work/study and exchange students. Alpacas, goats, chickens and other animals will also be part of the community, sharing their special energies and gifts.
Buildings are being constructed of local materials wherever possible, and the vision is, in the future, to generate needed power through sun, wind and water.
The property is equipped with electricity and running water. Cell-phone and internet service are also readily available. Loma de Ensueõs is located approximately one and a half hours south east of Quito, in view of magnificent Mt. Cotopaxi, and less than 20 minutes from the modern Pan American Highway. In 2-3 hours you can easily visit the Amazon, the Pacific Ocean, and many other places of interest and beauty. The elevation is around 9000 ft, and the weather year-round is in the 60’s and 70’s during the day, in the 50’s to the high 40’s at night.
